despeechier, F. d['e]p[^e]cher; prob. from pref. des- (L.
dis-) (assumed) LL. pedicare to place obstacles in the way,
fr. L. pedica fetter, fr. pes, pedis, foot. See {Foot}, and
cf. {Impeach}, {Despatch}.] [Written also {despatch}.]
